Head out to the beach at Punta Uva, and with howler monkeys, toucans, parrots, sloths, and green iguanas frolicking overhead, you can park your bicycle below a tree on the edge of the shore, don your mask and snorkel, and slip into another world just below the surface along the reef. The brilliant colors of the irridescent tropical fish and majestic coral formations never cease to astonish me, creating the environment I attempted to musically capture with this piece. If you’re listening closely, you’ll hear early morning field recordings I made of the howlers and birds outside our home on the jungle’s edge.
